Crisis talks following factory closures

A crisis meeting was called Thursday evening in Norrköping to discuss the recent series of factory closures in the central Swedish town. Three different companies, Whirlpool, Vitamex and Seco Tools have all announced plans this week to close their factories in Norrköping, reports Swedish Radio News.

Around 500 people risk losing their jobs. Before the meeting, the mayor of Norrköping, Lars Stjernkvist, said talks would centre on what measures are needed to deal with the situation. Representatives from the municapality and the Public Employment Office were in attendance.
