Snowstorm causes school closures

Swedish weather service SMHI has issued a class-1 weather warning for the southeastern coast of the country. Heavy snowfalls, forecast to be between five and 15 centimetres, biting winds and slippery roads have been causing many accidents, especially in the south of Sweden. Also, numerous schools have been closed because of the weather, for instance in Ystad and Trelleborg.

Over the weekend the temperatures will rise above freezing, for all but the very north of the country, meaning rain is on the way.
