Probe over abuse of public funds costed more than the trips

An external investigation into a municipal board's expensive trips to a real estate show in Cannes ended up costing more than the actual trips themselves, newspaper Sydsvenskan reports.

The board's multiple trips to Cannes over the course of three years costed the southern province of Staffanstorp SEK 414,000, but the bill from the law firm that did the investigation came to SEK 531,000. The president of the municipal board, however, says that the expense also gave them new guidelines to adhere to.
