Kim Källström injured in first training session with Arsenal

Swedish midfielder Kim Källström injured his back during his first training session with his new team Arsenal just one day after the shock transfer, tabloid Aftonbladet reports.

Sources say that he could be gone for as long as three months. Arsenal's press spokesperson Mark Gonella confirms the injury, but says to Aftonbladet that he awaits a more thorough evaluation from the club's medical team.

The 31-year-old Källström spent six years at Lyon in French Ligue 1 before signing for the Russian team FC Spartak Moscow in the summer of 2012. Källström, who has lost his place in the Spartak first-team, would be available for a small fee and would boost the Gunners' hopes of securing a first trophy in eight years after midfielder Aaron Ramsey was ruled out with a thigh strain for up to six weeks.
