Glamrocker Yohio and teenager Ellen Benediktson received the most votes in Saturday's opening round of the competition to choose the Swedish entry in the Eurovision Song Contest, Melodifestivalen in Malmö.

Yohio took Sweden by storm last year when he finished in second place in last year's edition of Melodifestivalen and managed to move on to the finals again this year. Also on to the finals is Ellen Benediktson, who charmed the voters with her ballad Songbird.

Favourite Helena Paparizou fell just short of the top two but will get another shot at making the finals in the Second Chance play-off on March 1st.

The final round will be held in Stockholm on March 8th.
