Silver to Charlotte Kalla in 10km classic

2:27 min

Sweden's Charlotte Kalla won a second Olympic silver medal in Sochi Thursday. The cross-country star finished the 10km classic course 18.4 seconds behind Justyna Kowalczyk of Poland, who raced with a fractured foot. Norway's Therese Johaug won bronze in the classical event which took place in temperatures of 13 degrees Celsius, leaving the snow mushy and some competitors racing in T shirts.

"I think it's one of the toughest races I've ever done; it's altitude and it's hot and wet," Kalla said. "I didn't feel I had the best speed but it was the same for everyone."

Charlotte Kalla's silver was Sweden's fifth medal of the Sochi games, all have come in cross-country.
