The Swedish ice hockey team, Tre Kronor, beat Slovenia 5-0 on Wednesday morning at the Winter Olympics in Sochi. This means the Swedish team will go on to play in the semifinals.

Sweden also qualified for the final in both the men's and women's team sprint cross-country event on Wednesday. The finals will be held in the afternoon.

Swedish media have dubbed today "Super Wednesday" as a number of Swedish athletes are competing in important contests, including semifinals in curling, quarter finals in hockey, and have medal opportunities in cross-country skiing.
