Swedish police arrest record number of international crime suspects

Published fredag 21 februari 2014 kl 11.47

Swedish police helped arrest a record number of internationally wanted suspects in 2013, Swedish Television News reports.

In 2010, the police launched an initiative focusing on international warrants and in 2013 they made 370 arrests.

The people arrested include both Swedes who had fled abroad, and suspects who had taken refuge in Sweden. A spokesman for the police says those arrested were wanted for a range of crimes, including bank robbery, murder and car theft.
