After what Princess Madeleine's husband Chris O'Neill describes as an emotional and long day he met the press at a press conference in New York. He said the just over twelve hour old baby is healthy and added that she looks just like her mom.

The baby is 50 centimeters, weighs 3,150 gram and was born 4.41 AM Swedish time. She is fifth in line to the Swedish throne. O'Neill says the birth was smooth and regular and that they are both overwhelmed at this point.

"She has dark brown eyes and dark brown hair. She is both beautiful and healthy," he said.

He did not however give any details on any of the new princess' names.

"We have picked out the names together, but I am not allowed to say anything yet," he said.

O'Neill was by princess Madeleine's side during the birth and cut the umbilical cord of the newborn baby. He said that it was a difficult decision to have the birth in New York and not in Sweden, but that it was ultimately Madeleine's choice to give birth in the US.
