Postage stamps raised to SEK 7

Starting on 1 April this year, the cost of a domestic stamp in Sweden will increase to SEK 7. At the same time, the weight limit for an envelop with just one stamp is increasing  from 20g to 50g.

That's a SEK 1 increase and is the first price increase since 2009, when the cost of a stamp went from SEK 5.50 to SEK 6.

Today, the average Swedish household spends about SEK 200 per year on postage. The Postal Service estimates that the increase in cost of a stamp will not affect this amount.
