Scania bosses bought shares before VW offer

Five top executives at truck maker Scania bought shares in the company a short time before Volkswagen announced it was interested in buying up the shares.

The bosses include the CEO of the company. If Volkswagen's bid is accepted their shares will be worth millions of SEK more than they paid.

A spokesman for Scania says the executives bought the shares without knowing about the German company's bid to buy Scania, and are not guilty of insider trading.

The Financial Inspection and the Stockholm Exchange both say they cannot comment on individual cases.
