Man convicted of raping sleeping woman

A man in his 40's has been sentenced to three years in prison for raping a woman in her sleep and surreptitiously taking pictures of her daughter while she was in the bathroom, Swedish Television SVT reports.

The man took pictures of himself raping the woman, who he was living with at the time, while she was sleeping. The woman has said she took sleeping pills for insomnia.

He is also convicted for having surreptitiously taken pictures of the woman's daughter when she was in the bathroom. He had tried to conceal the camera in the laundry basket, but the girl, who was a minor at the time, found it and reported him.

The man has confessed to the rape but claimed that the camera was in the bathroom because he had used it to examine his own body. He was ordered to pay SEK 165,000 in damages to the woman and SEK 7,000 to the girl.
