A Swedish soldier was dismissed after giving a "racist" speech in Ukraine.

Far-right soldier gets the boot after Kiev speech

The Swedish Armed Forces has fired a soldier who is a leading figure in the right-wing extremist group Nordic Youth, or Nordisk ungdom, and who gave a speech to an audience of nationalists in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.

The speech "cannot be regarded as anything but xenophobic, racist and offensive," military chief of staff Jan Salestrand wrote in the ruling, seen by the tabloid Expressen.

The fired, right-wing man was hired in March 2013 as a soldier in the Kungsängen Life Guards.
