Tyresö FF to continue debt restructuring

The financially troubled football club Tyresö FF will be allowed to continue its debt restructuring deal, the district court in Nacka decided on Thursday.

The future of the women's football club looked uncertain after it applied for restructuring earlier this month of its debt totaling about SEK 8 million, Swedish Television reports.

Sweden's tax authority, Skatteverket, was said to have first deny continuing the restructuring only to change their mind when Tyresö submitted new information about an rescue and payment plan.

Tyresö won the national championship in 2012 and finished second in the women's league behind Malmö last year. On Sunday, the club meets Austrian Neulengbach in the quarterfinals of the Women's Champions League.
