"Game of Thrones" has won over fans worldwide with its enveloping fantasy world, steamy drama and bloody powerplays. And few know more about the show and its details than Linda Antonsson and Elio Garcia.

The American television show is based off the book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R. R. Martin, which is expected to run to seven volumes.

The couple, who lives outside of Gothenburg, created their own fan site, Westeros.org, originally as part of a online role-playing game the pair wanted to create based around Martin's books.

It has later grown into a go-to website for the those wanting to know more about Martin and "Games of Thrones."

"We've branched into covering 'Games of Thrones' specifically with reviews," Garcia told Radio Sweden. "We have a very active forum with tens of thousands of people actively discussing everything there is to discuss."

Martin himself will even use Antonsson's and Garcia's encyclopedic knowledge to track down minutiae across thousands of pages. Martin has often said that Garcia and Antonsson know more about his books than he does.

Fans since the beginning, Antonsson and Garcia said they're still in awe of just how popular the television adaption of Martin's books has become even if not everyone understands exactly what all the fuss is about.

"It's often very hard to explain to someone for people who aren't into it themselves," Antonsson told Radio Sweden.
