Sweden mourns passing of "Brasse"

One of Sweden's most famous children's TV stars and actors has died.

Brasse Brännström, star of the iconic seventies show "Fem myror är fler än fyra elefanter" (Five ants are more than four elephants) was 69.

Born in 1945, Lars Erik "Brasse" Brännström also starred in several films by director Lasse Hallström together with comedy partner Magnus Härenstam. He was also nominated for an Oscar in 1988 after co-writing the Swedish feature film "My life as a dog".

But it was for "Fem myror är fler än fyra elefanter" that he will most fondly be remembered by a whole generation of Swedes, who flooded social media with condolences and memories after the announcement of his death late Friday night.
