Tiny endangered hippo born in Sweden

A rare dwarf hippopotamus has been born at a Swedish zoo.

The 6-kilo baby, named Olivia, is a member of an endangered species that looks like a miniature hippo, reports Swedish Television SVT.
Breeding the animals in captivity is part of the European zoo programme to protect endangered species. There are 126 of the animals living in Europe.

Dwarf hippos grow to up to 275kg, compared to a normal hippo that can be 3 tons. They live in the wild in west Africa, but they are in danger because so much of their forest home has been cut down.
