Swedish NBA player pleads guilty to domestic assault

Swedish basketball player Jeffery Taylor pleaded guilty in a US court on Wednesday to domestic violence charges after he pushed his girlfriend at a hotel in September.

Taylor, who plays as a forward for the Charlotte Hornets NBA team, faces up to 93 days in jail but prosecutors say he may be eligible for probation.

The Associated Press reports that Taylor acknowledged pushing his girlfriend and damaging a wall during a fight at the hotel. In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors dropped an assault and battery charge involving a hotel employee.

Taylor is from the town of Norrköping in Sweden but lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.
