Snow forecast for central Sweden

Residents in central Sweden should make sure they have taken their winter clothes out of storage and put the winter tyres on their cars, as the first snow of the season is expected in the area.

The Swedish weather service, SMHI, has issues a minor weather warning for central and south-central parts of the country. However, only around five centimetres of the white stuff are expected, news agency TT reports, and it could melt quite quickly.

A weather warning earlier this week for blizzards and dangerous driving conditions in the north ended up being scaled down, as the predicted heavy snowfalls failed to materialise.
