Gothenburg to host America's Cup qualifier

The Swedish west coast port of Gothenburg announced Wednesday that next year it will be putting on qualifying races for the 2017 America’s Cup.

The home of the Swedish America’s Cup team Artemis Racing, Gothenburg will host the warm-up on the weekend of August 28 to 30.

The announcement comes 24 hours after the English south coast city of Portsmouth announced it would be staging two of the warm-up races for the cup, the world’s most prestigious yachting race.
