Sweden and Denmark protest to Russia

The foreign ministers of Sweden and Denmark are calling in the Russian ambassadors to Stockholm and Copenhagen, over a reported near collision between a Russian military plane and a commercial passenger flight in mid-air.

The Swedish and Danish governments say a Russian surveillance plane flew close to a Danish Scandinavian Airlines flight on Friday.

The Swedish Foreign Minister, Margot Wallström, says Sweden and Denmark’s governments are acting together to meet their countries' Russian representatives. Wallström told reporters in Brussels: “our protest will be very clear,” according to news agency TT.

In March 2014 a Russian plane came just 90 meters away from another Scandinavian flight, according to what the pilot of that plane told newspaper Dagens Nyheter.
