Sweden knocked out of handball championships

Sweden were knocked out of the women's European handball championships Friday night. They were beaten in the semi-final by Norway, 29 - 25, meaning the Swedish team has to fight it out for a bronze tomorrow.

The Norwegian team dominated the match, but Sweden kept clawing back, but in the end could not keep up with their Nordic neighbours, Swedish Radio's sports department reports.

"Of course it is a disappointment, Norway were better. Their forwards are so fast, we just can't keep up", Swedish coach Thomas Sivertsson told TV4 after the match.

Norway play Spain in the final on Sunday, Sweden will play Montenegro in the bronze match.
