Armed Forces demand 4 bn krona extra a year

Today, the Swedish Armed Forces demanded four billion krona extra a year over the next five years to reach the goals set by the current political parties. The figure is their own estimate that they handed over to the government, Swedish Radio News reports.

The Armed Forces claimed that they need the money in order to properly defend the country's borders in the event of an attack and to quickly repel any violation of Swedish territory as well as to buy new equipment.

Today the Armed Forces have a budget of approximately 40 billion krona a year.
