Non-religious funerals on the rise

The number of non-religious funerals in Sweden continues to rise. Last year, 13 percent - or close to 3,000 - of the funerals arranged by funeral company Fonus were non-religious ceremonies, news agency TT reports. 

Fonus owns a third of the funeral market in Sweden and their number of non-religious funerals has gone up by 9 percentage points the past fifteen years.

Last year 10 percent of all Swedes opted to have a non-religious funeral service, according to news agency TT reports.
