Minecraft co-founder to sponsor Luleå hockey team

The Luleå hockey team has been investing a lot of new money into their team this year, thanks to computer game Minecraft co-founder Jakob Porser, according to newspaper NSD.

Porser, while not a majority owner of the company, made a substantial profit when the company that produced Minecraft, Mojang, was sold to Microsoft for 2.5 billion USD in 2014.

According to NSD, Porser now is planning on pumping millions of krona into the Luleå hockey team in the coming years, with the hope that they will create a strong team that can compete for the Swedish hockey championship.
