Songwriters to Spotify: Give us credit!

Swedish music streaming company Spotify is in hot water with songwriters. In the newspaper Aftonbladet this morning, 133 song and lyric writers wrote a petition demanding Spotify pay them more for streaming their music.

The debate began when musician Taylor Swift, the world's top selling artist, pulled her songs from Spotify in protest of the low payout from Spotify.

So far, the debate has centered around performers and the record companies. But now, songwriters are joining the debate, writing in the article today that they think it's more than fair that the creators of music should also get credit for it.

Some of the well-known signers of the debate article are: Anna Tenheim, Peter LeMarc and Christian Walz.
