Persson Congratulates Blair on Victory

Sweden’s Prime Minister Göran Persson has congratulated his British counterpart Tony Blair’s victory in the British elections, saying that ”labour’s victory confirms support for a policy that can manage growth, justice, environment and international solidarity.”

Persson added that the results of the British elections show that the British public have given the Labour government another mandate in order to continue to develop an ambitious and progressive policy that began in 1997.

Prime Minister Blair won an historic third term in Wednesday’s election but with a reduced majority.
