In the second incident on Thursday morning, a man was shot in his car at a parking lot in eastern Gothenburg and died in hospital shortly afterwards. Less than 12 hours earlier another man was shot dead in a different part of the city, Swedish Television News reports.
Police have no leads on the shooting that occurred Thursday but SVT reports that the victim was 'known to police'. Witnesses notified the police after hearing gunshots, but investigations into what happened are still ongoing.
The other fatal shooting was in northern Gothenburg on Wednesday night, when a 55-year-old man was shot to death and another man suffered minor injuries. Police have arrested four men suspected of murder and aggravated assault, but did not want to comment if the murder was linked to previous shootings in the area.
Four people have been shot to death in Gothenburg since the start of the year.
