Teen arrested over jogger’s murder

A man, 19, has admitted to murdering a woman, 21, whose body was found on a jogging track in Upplands Väsby, north of Stockholm.

Ida Johansson was found dead at 2 a.m. on August 6th. As part of their investigation, police asked for tips from the public and found DNA evidence at the murder site.

It was a tip-off that lead police to the 19-year-old, who is from Upplands Väsby. On Thursday night, he was detained on probably cause. The prosecutor claimed there was a chance the man would destroy evidence material and therefore demanded his arrest.

The man admitted to the crime during the police's first questioning on Thursday, news agency TT reports. He has been arrested and will go through a psychiatric examination.
