Swedish boxer Badou Jack defends world title

Swedish super-middleweight champion Badou Jack defended his world title Saturday night after defeating the Brit George Groves, Swedish Radio's sports department reports.

Groves came into the fight as the favourite but was knocked down early in the first round after Jack landed a right punch straight to his jaw. Groves overcame the early upset however and the bout ended after the full 10 rounds with Jack winning on split decision.

31-year-old Badou Jack, who lives in Las Vegas, won the title earlier this year when he beat the American Anthony Direll.
