Sweden expects biggest grain harvest in 25 years

The Swedish agricultural cooperative Lantmännen expects this year's grain harvest to be the biggest in 25 years even though the season has been shorter than usual, news agency TT reports.

The reasons for this year's large yield, according to the cooperative, are that more farmers sowed winter grains last year and that the weather conditions have been good for grain farming.

The exceptional harvest has, however, lead to that many farmers have had to wait to get their grain picked up.
