Heavy rains cause flooding on West Coast

Heavy rains on the west coast have caused flooding in Strömstad. Some 15 houses are under water, with up to half a metre of it in the cellar.

Two shopping centres north of Strömstad are also affected, the tabloid GT/Expressen reports. The rescue services are reminding property owners that they are obliged to ensure that storm drains are cleared from leaves so that they can work properly.

More rain is expected during the course of the night, as the tropical storm "Henri" is coming in from the Atlantic, the newspaper Göteborgs-Posten reports. The met office SMHI has issued a class 1 weather warning for the Dalsland, Värmland and Dalarna counties.
