The annual warning comes that the Fall is the high season for road accidents involving wildlife. Among the reasons: the days are growing shorter, moose are mating, and the population is highest just before the beginning of the hunting season.

Motorists are advised to avoid speeding, and exercise greater caution.

Last year there were more than 47,000 road accidents involving wildlife in Sweden. According to the National Road and Transport Research Institute, three out of four involve deer.
