Thousands observe minute's silence for Paris terror victims

"It is a catastrophe for all people"
2:59 min

Thousands of people around Sweden observed a minute's silence to honour the victims of the terrorist attack in Paris.

At schools, workplaces and in local councils around the country, people stood silent for a minute at 12 o'clock, taking part in the EU-wide minute of silence to honour the dead in the attack.

The government also took part in the minute of silence, and the flag above the government offices was at half mast. Outside the French Embassy several people turned up to put down flowers.

At Stockholm Central station, the train operator SJ also observed a minutes silence.

"It feels right to do it, it is a catastrophe for all people in the whole world," said Patricia Espinoza, who sells tickets to people at the station.
