Photographer Claire Aho dies in Stockholm fire

The explosive fire in central Stockholm over the weekend caused the death of the pioneering Finnish photographer Claire Aho.

News agency TT reports that Aho was the only one who died in the fire, which injured eight people.

Claire Aho was born in Helsinki, but moved to Stockholm in the 1970s. She started as a photographer in the 1940s and later became famous for her fashion pictures. She was among the pioneers in colour photography and film, and was the only female photographer in the Helsinki Olympics in 1952.

This spring her works was presented at a gallery in London.

Claire Aho was 90 years old when she died.
