Around 40 members of the neo-Nazi Svenska motståndsrörelsen have been detained by police at the Medborgarplatsen square in central Stockholm.

The group’s demonstration started at Karlaplan, not far from Broadcasting House, and police had roped off the area in front of Radio Sweden’s location.

One person has reportedly been taken to the hospital by ambulance.

“The demonstrators refused to follow police instructions,” Stockholm police spokesperson Eva Nilsson told the newspaper Aftonbladet. “Now they’ll be taken away, and we’ll see who is charged with a crime. Right now everything is calm.”
