Three arrested after Stockholm suburb shooting
Three men in their twenties were arrested Sunday morning after a shooting in the Stockholm suburb of Skärholmen.
The shooting happened late Saturday night and the police cordoned off the scene at around 11 pm after witnesses said shots had been fired into a crowd.
The police found empty shells and arrested the three men, who are suspected of murder and of severe weapons crime. The tires of a police car were slashed and the vehicle had to be towed, news agency TT reports.
As of Sunday morning, there were no reported injuries but police will continue hearing witnesses and knocking doors in the area.
Skärholmen is a suburb located in south-west Stockholm. Saturday’s incident comes a month after one person was shot dead and one was injured in a shooting by a school in the north-western suburb of Akalla.
