Newcomer Diaries: Weronika’s piano, postal problems, and pizza salad

Episode 3: Weronika from Poland
5:37 min

Weronika has been living in Sweden with her boyfriend Piotr since May. As EU citizens, getting social security or identity numbers was fairly smooth. But they've had their fair share of mail mix-ups.

In this week's episode, hear the Polish couple discuss their thoughts on Swedish working culture.

People are taking four weeks of vacation, which would be absolutely incredible in Poland ... It's like you forget what you're doing in the job!”

“My employer trusts that I can do my job. They don't control me. In Poland, we had a lot of controls ... here, we care about each other at work,” Weronika added.

This summer, Radio Sweden is following the journeys of three new arrivals as they adjust to life in Sweden. Listen to Newcomer Diaries on the Radio Sweden Weekly podcast, radiosweden.org, or on the radio to keep up with Jyothi, Weronika, and Randy this summer.
