One soldier is still in a serious condition in hospital after a train collided with a Patria armoured vehicle on Tuesday in Södermanland County.

Four people were hurt in the collision, three inside the vehicle and the driver of the locomotive, which was derailed.

The injuries are mostly minor and the soldier airlifted to Stockholm's Karolinska University Hospital is not in a life-threatening condition, says the military in a press release.

The soldiers affected were from the Södra skånska regementet (P7) and were taking part in the first major military exercise in 20 years, Aurora 17.

The military drill will end on Friday.
