Leftist publisher stages alternative book fair

Organizer: There is a need for a big alternative book fair
3:51 min

The annual book fair in Gothenburg is the largest in the Nordic countries but this year its sharing the spotlight with two alternative events.

The main book fair began on Thursday and will host tens of thousands of visitors. But two alternative book fairs are taking place at the same time.

They cropped up both as a protest to the Gothenburg Book Fair allowing the right-wing weekly Nya Tider to exhibit again this year as well as to give more space to smaller companies and lesser-known authors.

Johan Ehreberg is the managing director for ETC media company and is the organizer of one of the alternative events.
