Landvetter bomb suspect released
A man held on suspicion of attempted terrorism after a security alert at Sweden's second airport has been released.
The man, a German national in his twenties, was detained yesterday at Gothenburg Landvetter, sparking the partial shut-down of the airport.
However, the man is no longer suspected of any wrongdoing.
"There are no longer any credible reasons to suspect criminal activity. Analysis of the suspect material has been conducted during the day and the man is no longer suspected of any offence," the Swedish Prosecution Authority said in a statement published on its website.
The substance that sparked the alert is not thought to be dangerous. "It looks like it was food," says regional police chief Erik Nord to SVT.
