Musicians trained in Sweden are less skilled than those trained abroad, according to five of Sweden's largest symphony orchestras.

In a survey by Swedish Radio's culture department, representatives of three of the five orchestras also say that the quality of Swedish musicians has deteriorated in the past decade.

In total, five symphony orchestras took part in the Swedish Radio survey: the Royal Swedish Orchestra, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, and the Gothenburg Opera Orchestra.
