Sweden Democrats to pressure centre-right on migration

1:54 min

Paula Bieler, a lawmaker from the Sweden Democrats, which is on course to get higher than 15% in the next election, tells Radio Sweden how her party aims to keep putting pressure on the other parties, to reduce immigration even further.

Migration policy in Sweden has changed sharply in the last two years, with the big parties embracing controls far tougher than previously acceptable, after the surge in asylum applications.

A party that is seen as having a big influence in this area, depsite not ever being in government, is the nationalist Sweden Democrats.

But the Moderate Party press spokesperson tells Radio Sweden that they do not base their politics on what other parties think.
