Stockholm City is converting, temporarily, sections of 12 roads into pedestrian-friendly streets. This is the fourth year for the project.
Under most circumstances, vehicles will not be allowed to park or drive on the selected streets until September 13. Those making deliveries, dropping off passengers or driven by people will disabilities will still be able to use the roadway but at low speeds.
In addition to the pedestrian streets, the city is also creating several summer squares and pop-up parks, spaces reclaimed from street traffic and set aside for people.
