Tougher times ahead for schools with many newly arrived students

During the first two years of taking on students who are new to the country, a municipality receives financial aid from the state, but after that time municipalities are expected to meet other costs themselves.

In Östra Göinge in Skåne, more than every fifth student is a recent arrival. According to the municipality, this entails additional costs that they are ill-equipped to bear.
