Thai boys rescued from cave invited to play at Gothia Cup

The international youth football tournament Gothia Cup in Gothenburg has invited the team of the twelve Thai boys who were trapped for 17 days in a cave in Thailand, the Wild Boars Football Club, to come to next year's tournament as special guests with all expenses covered.

"We have all been very touched by the situation the boys have been in and all of us are soglad that it ended this way," Dennis Andersson, the general secretary of Gothia Cup, told Radio Sweden.

He said it felt natural to send the invitation to them, as a way to support youth football in the world.

"They are young football players. Gothia Cup is the world's biggest international youth football tournament, so why not?," said Andersson.
