New EU car emissions deal "disappointing"

EU ministers agreed on Tuesday to seek a 35 percent cut in new car emissions by 2030, but Sweden's environment minister voiced disappointment with the compromise deal.

Environment minister Karolina Skog said the deal was not ambitious enough.

"Sweden and a group of other countries, came here with high ambitions and so it is obvious that I am disappointed," she told Swedish Radio in Luxembourg, where ministers talked for 13 hours on reaching a compromise deal.
