Sweden's new EU-minister would accept Brexit delay

0:54 min

The new EU-minister Hans Dahlgren says most EU countries would be fine with Britain delaying Article 50 and hence the date of formally leaving the EU.

He says a delay would be acceptable, but only if there was a significant change that would take time, such as the British government moving its political lines for negotiations, or if there were to be a new referendum, or a new election.

He says if the British asked for more time to carry out such measures he has a hard time imagining that any EU country would oppose it.
