Why so many coats? A guide for those new to parenthood and Sweden

5:58 min

Moving to a new country and becoming a parent for the first time are two life-changing experiences that Sarah Campbell did more or less at the same time. Now, she has written a book to help other people in the same situation.

Sarah Campbell's daughter was 7 months old when the family moved from England to Sweden. And though the two countries are pretty similar culturally, even small differences can feel like big challenges when you are a new parent.

Her English-language book "Swedish for Parents" is a handbook about the new things that you may come across when you are new to parenthood and to Sweden. It is filled with vocabulary for different parent-related situations and practical language tips that may help you to get over that first hurdle.
