Sweden beat Germany for the first time in 24 years to reach the semi finals of the Women's Football World Cup.

Germany took the lead in the 18th minute with a skillful goal from Lina Magull. Sofia Jakobsson equalised six minutes later when a long ball from Linda Sembrandt caught the German defence out. Stina Blackstenius scored the winning goal at the start of the second half.

By reaching the semi finals, Sweden have now automatically qualified for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. They will face the Netherlands on Wednesday who beat Italy 2-0. If Sweden wins, they will face either England or the USA in the final match on Sunday.
